Duplicate players being created in 6.5

After I purchased 6.5 I started a brand new custom solo league with fictional players. After the All-Star break, at least five players were duplicated by the computer and became free agents. The players I found all appeared to be signed on July 10, so I assume they were created on that day or shortly before.

I first noticed this on the league leaders boards on the standings page when the same player was appearing among the league leaders for both leagues. I immediately released the copied player and deleted him. The original player remained with his original team, although his player history was wiped out.

I only noticed more copied players after I took a look at my second baseman's page. He was only making the league minimum, which I knew was inaccurate. It turns out he had also been copied and signed to a minor league contract by another team. I later discovered my third baseman was also copied. I simmed a few games and the players accumulated statistics from both of their teams.

In my eight team league, I have found five duplicate players. The one thing they all had in common was that they were All-Stars. I can't think of anything that I might have done to trigger the players being duplicated by the game. Since four of the duplicates signed big contracts, they were pretty easy to spot on the transaction page. It's possible some lesser players were duplicated as well, but short of me going through every player in the league and checking, I have no way of knowing.
