OOTP6.5 needs to close

OK, I have never had a CTD with OOTP (except for the in-game sound issue). However, last night I started a "Test" league to test some modifiers. My career started in 1970. I woke up this morning to find that OOTP 6.5a had stopped simming in 1989 and with a screen box that said "OOTP 6.5 has encountered a problem and needs to close". I guess I am asking what could cause this to happen since I have never seen this before in OOTP6 (including all patches and except for the in-game sound issue). It appears that the stats, ect were all intact so I didn't lose any of that - again for testing purposes.

Below are my system specs and game info;

*Windows XP Pro (SP2) - updated with all MS updates
*Direct X 9.0c
*All lastest vid and sound card drivers
**Running OOTP6.5a
**Running with Direct3D on
**No human controlled teams
**Fast simming (Was in the process of simming 100 yrs)

Do you have any processes set up to run overnight like virus scans or anti-spyware scans, defrags, etc?

It could have been any number of things external to OOTP itself that could have caused the problem.

No, I made sure all other software was turned off. I do not use automatic updates either (on MS or anything else).
