Trade Picks not working
I used pierres draft utility on my last offseason to re-arrange some picks as the game did not do it right. Had to move my league file to v6 and than back to 6.5 and now i cant trade picks in game. It locks up the season. No big deal as there were too mnay bugs with trading picks in game anyway. But anybody else have this problem

Not sure what you would consider a stable league. This is my online league. Draft picks just lock up the trade screen now.

I guess my point is, if your league were working "normally" (ie not locking up), I would have suggestions. But since something in your online league is now fubared, I'm not sure even what I have to say would help. But, anyway, here are my thoughts:
I've had problems with trading draft picks for some time. One suggestion that was given to me was this. After the draft each year, delete the "tradedpicks.dat" file. I believe it is in the root of the .lg directory. This seems to help OOTP keep the draft picks straight. Of course, since you're in the middle of the league, you may have to determine what impact this would have, if any, on the existing league. I'm also not 100% certain that this works and solves the problem. I tried it once in a test league, and I was able to make a trade, get through the draft the following season, and have a normal draft the season after that. But, that was just one test, using a very simple scenario. Draft picks also seem to be more robust in 6.5b, but that hasn't been released yet. Let me know if you have any questions. Steve |

Also, I'm not sure for an online league what you would do - perhaps EVERYONE needs to delete the tradedpicks.dat file??
You could try backing up your copy of the league, then delete tradedpicks.dat, fire up the program, and test a trade, see if it crashes. |

Hmm good points all ill have to try and remember that after this season. I pretty much went to my old school way of trading picks. Creating "PICK PLAYERS" as place mats so to speak. Next season when I roll the season over ill delete the tradepicks dat and see what happens , after backing everything up of course

Are you sure it is locking up? I had this issue last year but if you let the coputer sit long enough (literally 4 or 5 minutes) the trade eventually went through.

I found out the problem with this was when the game did the 3000+ draft pick error. Why it does that I dont know.
