kind of a crappy system - it kind of peeves me that this bug is known about, but, unless we'd been watching each thread (or discovering it on our own) we wouldn't know there's a pretty glaring issue using FTP for exports (obviously, I'm here quite a bit, and this is the first I've heard of this issue).

And this isn't even the biggest issue with FTP exports (not that the OTHER issue is even remotely discussed...)

IMO we are best off abandoning that sinking ship that is Off Topic to the rats infesting it and just starting a whole new Baseball Forum from scratch.

This issue was discussed in a thread previously, which is where I found it (actually it was found by another Beta Tester who passed it on to me), that thread was actually fairly recent (within a week or so). I don't think it was a concerted effort not to talk about that error, its just that many haven't found it yet.
In fact I have to update the earlier error report with some extra information that the further discussion provided. (Redundancy can be very helpful to find commonalities and debug)

If the other more serious issue is the one I think it is, then it was discussed sometime ago, and not brought up since, partially because those who discovered it didn't want the issue brought to allow potential explotation by those with unscrupulous desires... and partially because others haven't discovered or thought about it. However, you are correct that it probably will need to be brought up again (especially if its not addressed in this patch).

As I've said I'm open to maintaining a public list, however I'd like to ensure I can free up the time to maintain the list in the manner that would be necessary to adequately support this community and the developer. I've been using this forum to act as the moderator, as part of the reason I'm leary of creating a fully public list is the avalanche of emails that I will receive with "user issues" as opposed to game issues and the level of effort that will be required to keep it updated regularly to avoid the flames and complaints that will be directed my way if I can't update the page one day.

One would think that if there are problems, big or small, with the FTP Exports, then Leagues should be notified of these problems. Really. Leagues should know these problems exist in the FTP Export feature if there are bugs like this in it. The first thing I did when I saw this was send e-mails to the commishes of my leagues.

I totally disagree with you. Steve and Scott work very hard in this board.. and like Scott said... if he tells everyone about EVERY glitch in the game... there will be people who will take advantage of it.

My thoughts are that this isn't a HUGE bug because how long did it take before anyone even noticed it? 3 1/2 months? If it was a big problem... it would have been noticed right away. We are making the bug WORSE letting this thread get bigger and bigger... Who was the jerk who started it anyway?

These guys work hard already.. as they said before... they are working on ALL the problems.. but they can't fix ALL of them over-night.

These particular gliches can't be taken advantage of if league commishes have their GMs e-mail exports. People may be taking advantage of these gliches because no one knew about them and they have been FTP exporting.

No, it's not a big deal, but something else could be.

I wouldn't expect them to fix all of the problems overnight, or this problem overnight. I don't expect to get all the problems fixed EVER. Really. But there's no reason not to at least get the word out once the issue is found, to give commishes the opportunity to cancel FTP exporting...
