Is there a DL bug?

I am running a fictional league. Simming 4 game days per sim.

I haven't noticed this before.. but when a player gets injured.. and is placed on the DL.... the very next sim it shows that he has 0 [ZERO] days left on the DL.

I tried doing a search.. but you must have a 4 letter word to search. BUG or DL is not a big enough word.

Not that I have ever noticed, but a player must remain on the DL for atleast 14 days. After that he "can" but does not have to come off.

Ok.. I realize that is what is supposed to happen and that is what has happened in the past.
My problem is.. an owner gets an injured player.. then puts him on the DL. Then 4 days later... it shows that there is 0 days left on the DL and he is able to move that player back into AAA or wherever.

Something has happened because it never used to do this. I have not had any crashes.

Here is an instance:

C Fred Mcmahon was injured on 6/25/02. He was placed on the DL on 6/28/02. It is now 7/02/02 and he shows "0 days" left on the DL.

I have more if you need.

Is this showing up when the GM exports his file and you import it? When player goes on the DL he will often times heal faster than stated but his DL time should not change(get shorter).

Let me know as this may be an online league issue.

Yes that is exactly what it is. An owner noticed this and brought it to my attention.
After looking through all the rosters.. I have ONE injured player that has days left on his DL time.. and ironically... this is the only owner in CUBL that sends his lineups "written".

So.. like you said.. it appears that this is happening to teams that send in their imports.

now that you mention this, I think I've seen this myself in this league.

Mutz Whitaker, for example, never seemed to have any time left on the DL - I remember noticing that is was zero days almost right away, and wondered if I had really missed 2 weeks of game time and just not noticed.

wonder if it has to do with FTP exporting?

I can confirm this is happening as well. I had this happen to a guy in the Baseball Maelstrom. The guy was injured on 4/22/02. Looking at him on the DL on 4/30/02, he has 0 days left. I've FTP exported the last couple sims.

is Yellowknife a team that sends in lineups manually? or maybe via email?

In looking around, I noticed something else interesting. NONE of my minor league transactions a logged. For example, I recently promoted Ron Tincher from A to AA. He's on AA now, in the rotation where I placed him, but there is NO record of the transaction being made in my News & Reports screen. ALL of my exports this year have been done via FTP.

Meanwhile, Yellowknife shows lots of these kinds of transactions (I chose him, because I know of one specific move he had made recently).

I checked my White Sox in the NAHHBL, and the few minor league moves I've made have been logged (all exports in that leagues are done via email, not FTP).

Wondering if these missing logs via FTP are the sign of more glaring omissions, like time left on the DL...

I noticed Brad Thomas being placed on the DL isn't on the Transaction Report. I think DD is right. There are somethings being left out some where.

I can confirm that transaction news items do NOT export. I've known about this for some time, but just figured that the game wasn't designed to have them export. It would be so helpful if this info were exported. Much easier to track player movement that way.

Going back to the DL issue, does this just affect the number of days on the DL or the number of days injured as well?

For example, if a guy is hurt for 7 weeks, will his number of days injured zero out as well?

DD, Yellowknife sends emails actually... and yes... this seems to be happening to teams that export FTP.

so,
it looks like this is a big bug in FTP exports - minor league transaction logs don't update, although the actual move takes place (a minor bug) and time left on the DL doesn't export via FTP - a HUGE bug.

This brings up a good point (which I know someone has probably mentioned before). Is there a list of known bugs available anywhere?

I'm sure if people looked at it before they posted in this forum that there would be a lot less duplication.

Of course, if people read the FAQ before posting here we could probably say the same thing.
