Player stats are 1 year off

I just installed OOTP 4.0C and Lahman's 4.5 database and started a historical league beginning with the year 1920. I happened to look at Babe Ruth's statistics for 1919 and what was listed were his real stats for 1920. I checked other players and there 1919 listed stats were all 1920 as well. So the statistics are one year off.

Does anyone know why this happened? Is this a bug or is it normal? Is the Lahman database corrupted? Any help would be appreciated.

normal, i think. i've seen this before and by the next season your simmed 1920 will replace their old 1920 stats. however this isnt true for some other players (especially those around later in the century) which will import with their 1998 stats hanging around forever out of order. a board member, scott, corrected these. search the board for topics regarding where to download it.
