Historical Rookie Import Crash
Since installing patch 6.51, I've had 2 different franchises crash during the importing of historical rookies. I've never had this happen with any version of OOTP I've had in the past 4 years, so I'm assuming it's the new patch as I've done nothing new with my system other than install it.

Unfortunately, I had no current backup of the longer running league, so that one is pretty much dead unless I feel like going through the master list of Ankit and importing by hand (it seems to be okay if I want to import a single player).

Anyone else experiencing this? It's happened twice in a row now.

okay, I hate to double post, but I reinstalled 6.5b and the game has returned to normal, I can import from the databases again.

Just FYI, I'd hate to see anyone else get hit by this.

Has anyone been able to duplicate this?

If you're playing pre-1947 American baseball, then the All-American Mod (a namefiles/ethnicites/nation/cities file pack) is for you.

Confirmed. I just ran a couple of tests. I used two different databases and both crashed the game trying to import a single historical player.

Workaround since there will probably be no update to the patch:

1. Move your league file to OOTP 6.12

2. Import your historical players

3. Move your league file back to OOTP 6.5

Yes. That was the first one I tried. And the good ol' unmolested version of Lahman's DB too.
