game freezes
Here's the problem:
6-7 times in a row now, the game will freeze either on the schedule screen (when I click on sim for an individual game) or on the standings screen (if it is going through a sim day). It just locks up totally and I can't even get a soft break out of it - i usually have to hard re boot. System has like 4 GB of space - brand new - no problems with that. The weird thing is that I successfully played 6 seasons before this started happening (hence I am now hooked). I have tried the computer manager thing and I have looked to see if any hurt pitchers are trying to pitch - nothing like that is the case. Am getting frustrated that my 30 bucks was a waste... help?? Thanks. |

How much RAM do you have? What other programs are running at the time? You say you have run the computer manager for the league and that did not help?
How long are you waiting before deciding the game is freezing up? At what point in the season is this happening? |

I dont know exactly how much RAM there is, but it has to be alot - this was a top of the line Sony Vaio that is only 2 months old.
It's happening in the month of July - what usually happens is that it will freeze up and then after I reboot I can get back in and play a few days and then it will happen again. Sometimes it happens again right away. A couple of times, I also had Internet Explorer going, but the last few times, nothing else has been running. In terms of waiting - it's obvious that it freezes because usually you can see the "sim" button pressed when you click on it. Instead, it doesn't press and you can do nothing to the game - the mouse still works and you can minimize the game, but you can't exit the game - you can click on the X button and tell the computer to exit the program but it usually just sits there. Yes, the computer manager did not help. Last edited by bistro; 06-23-2002 at 08:34 PM. |

This doesn't happen when you have had the monitor on energy save and it "goes to sleep" or the screen saver comes up? When you ran the computer manager, did you make sure and change all the teams to computer owned?

No - this has had nothing to do with the screen saver or the computer going to sleep or anything like that.
As for computer manager - am I supposed to even make the team that I am controlling a computer owned team (or is that the whole point? forgive me...). |

I know that I have had a problem where there was a SP in the rotation who was "DTD" and that froze the game up. Need to check for even something like that.

The problem also manifests itself in this way: when I actually play a game (instead of simming it) - the game plays fine and then when you click on close after the final boxscore comes up it says "simming minor leagues" or maybe it is "playing minor leagues" and again it freezes up with similar results. Is it possible I just got a defective copy? Can I get another or something? Is there any warranty or anything? |

I am having the same Problem. I simed out about 13 years then I noticed that my Calendar day was a month off of my game date. Played fine till the next year. after offseason I started simming the first week and notice this time it was 2 months off and after about 3 days it freezes. since then I can not get it started again. I also noticed that the few days that wrer simmed there is pitching leaderes and stats but no batters leaders or stats.

It sounds like to me that you have "skipped spring training", that is one of the signs that you have done that the schedule is a month off. I do not know why the game is freezing however.
No, don't "fill minors". But how many players are in the minors of the teams, roughly? |
