Endurance Ratings for Pitchers

In my league, I have several guys who have no endurance ratings for SP even though they have been in the minors for years as a starting pitcher.

A prime example is Aaron Cook - http://www.sportplanet.com/sbb/elite...ports/1379.htm

He was an initial pick in the EBL disersement draft, and lasted until R31 because he was under-developed and had no endurance rating as a SP.

But he has spent 2 full seasons as a SP at A and AA and now he is at AAA. But still no endurance rating.

Shouldnt the game have awarded him a SP rating by now?

Cheers,

Not sure how you ended up with a guy in the SP role with no SP endurance rating, but...

I think the only time a pitcher can get an endurance rating for a different role is during spring training. So maybe you'll have to teach this guy to be a SP in spring training.

A couple of questions for you -
How many innings per start is this guy pitching?
If you change his role to MR, can you change him back to a SP?

this is really something i would like to see addressed. I would much rather there just be one endurance rating instead of one for RP and SP. I think one rating would be more true to life

I agree there should just be one pitcher endurance rating.

The game will not give a pitcher an endurance rating as a starter simply by being placed in the starting rotation in the minors. They are not allowed to "learn" a new Pitching Role. They only way they'll can a starting endurance rating is during Spring Training.

Scott,
Do you know if switching to one rating is being considered?

I was wondering if this change indeed was being considered. The problem that sometimes occurs is that a pitcher comes into the league his first year and only relieved. Thus he is only given a rating as a Reliever. Well, he could have been an SP for the next 20 years of his career, but cannot gain that SP rating anyway but spring training, which some commish's in online leagues don't mess around with. Anyway, I think it would be a nice addition, even if it was difficult to do. Thanks Jim

I've been wishing for this for awhile so I hope that it is considered... but I don't know if it is or not.

But with some of the AI being rewritten, it might be as good a time as any for this change to be made if its going too.

*crosses fingers*
