Unable to import historic rookies

Hello. I have a problem hopefully someone can help me solve. I recently finished the 2002 season in my historical league using OOTP version 5.13. Everytime I proceed to the next season the game automatically generates amateurs, not asking if I want to import real rookies or not. I have reloaded the season at the point it was backed up (just after the 2002 World Series wrapped up) and this always happened. Do I have to just content myself with using generic rookies at this point? Or is there anything I can do to fix this problem?I was hoping to be able to pick from real players for at least two more amateur drafts, so any help would be appreciated.

Haven't played v5 in years but my guess is that at the time v5 was made 2003 was either the present season or a future season. Probably why it doesn't ask to import. You can go to the baseball-reference site and there is a place where it tells you who debuted in each year and manually import the players one by one.

I can confirm what Steve is saying. That is exactly the problem, and the only workaround is to do the individual importing by player id, as he says.

It's a bummer. I never got around to doing it because it was such a daunting task, so my old OOTP5 league is still stuck at the end of 2002.

Yes. The current versions do this too. I hope the next version will be different and have a choice no matter what year it is.

I'm sure a lot of people will play one version for more than just a few years and it'd be great to break out an old version, 5 years from now and start a semi-current historical league.

Thank you for the replies. Guess I'll import free agent rookies one by one until it becomes too tedious.
