Stars of Pitchers
In my online league, all of the starting pitchers with a star rating over 3.0 regressed to 3.0. For example: Mark Prior used to be 4 stars but he dropped to 3.0 a month ago (sim time). I haven't edited the engine or anything. It has only affected starting pitchers and it's the same for every team. Some more examples: Jeremy Sowers, CC Sabathia, and Felix Hernandez.

I read that before I posted it. Does this mean ALL starters are 10% above average at best now? That would make sense if it was a gradual change but it happened during a 2 week period. I forgot to mention it's in 6.5.

As others have said about the star ratings, I'd put very little stock in them - better to look at ALL ways that you can evaluate a player(stats, ratings, potential, stars, history, etc) than place so much emphasis on that one thing. I know atleast one person who likens the stars to a media evaluation.

It's somewhat believable from looking at the ratings of pitchers in the league.
Seems most teams have at least a couple pitchers in the all 80s ratings group, which would put them barely above average, but no one is all high 90s or anything to make them way above average. You may also check your AI evaluation percentages to see if that gives any guidance.

Yeah, I don't put much stock into them either but people in the league were asking about it so I figured I'd ask here.
My evaluation ratings are 95% ratings, 4% current season stats and 1% previous season. Pretty much what the roster set came with. |
