Game Crashes after a few minutes
After about 5 minutes in the game (version 6.51), I recieve an error message (OOTP has generated errors and will shut down...).
I'm willing to accept some bugs, but I'm not willing to accept not being able to play something I just spent money on at all. Anybody know how this can be fixed? |

You need to give us ALOT more details inorder for us to help, both about your system and EXACTLY what you are doing when this happens.

Did you just create the league? Or is it a league that was transferred from a previous version?
Have you ever been able to sim with this league without errors? Does every league in your game produce errors or only one league? Do the errors occur while playing out a game or simming through a week, month or season? Do you have the in-game sound ON? What kind of Anti-Virus program is running while you are playing the game? Is your operating system Windows XP SP2?

Did you install 6.12 before installing 6.51?
Did you apply all the patches to 6.5? Try uninstalling and reinstalling both versions. Make sure you apply the patches. Check your system resources. CTRL+ALT+DEL and find out what the "commit charge" is. Also, check to see how much available Hard Drive space you have. The game will crash or freeze if there's not enough space and/or RAM available. The game does use a lot. 256 is fine if your PC is well tuned but if you have a lot of other programs(not only Anti-virus) running in the background, the game will not function properly.

I would also disable any screen savers. Some of them take up quite a bit of resources, and you did state it happened when you left the room.
I should be a detective.

OK, I uninstalled the game and re-installed it, making especially sure that I did everything properly, though I'm fairly certain I had done so already. I turned off the sound, and I don't have any screen savers or other programs running.
Sometimes it works, usually it crashes. I'd say that about 15% of the time it'll run without eventually crashing. Every other time, it'll crash no matter what I'm doing. I could be navigating menus, simulating a season, adjusting the roster or player photographs, and I'll get a pop-up window saying that OOTP6 has generated errors and will now shut down. Very frustrating. |

Just a guess really but because of the extremely limited nature of the issue I'd say it is some type of conflict w/ something installed on your system.

Well, can you give us some system specs and maybe we can narrow it down and get it running. Maybe not but worth a try.
