Well, as we enter our 7th season playing OOTP (from 5 through to 6) we have come across a nasty little bug.

I've searched these forums and have seen others hit it - but with no solution posted on how to fix it.

One of the players in my league noticed that one of his pitchers had thrown a game (was tired) eventhough his spot in the rotation was up next. I do a quick search on the player name and I find that Joseph Zebrowski is holding down two jobs!

He's a starter for Brooklyn, and a starter for Dunedin! While there is no doubt about the economic winfall for this starting pitcher, the fact is his arm just isn't capable of being a part of two rotations.

We tried releasing him from the Brooklyn team... but that just placed his dopleganger self into the free agent pool ready to picked up by someone else.

We ended up having Dunedin sign the duplicate. When looking at the team roster Zebrowski now only appears once, and through the front office we can see that Dunedin is only paying him once. Problem solved? But wait... if I do a player search on Zebrowski through the player trade window his name still appears twice - both belonging to Dunedin. So the duplicate still exists in some fashion.

How do we rectify this?

We are running 6.12 with no mods made. We began our league as an import of the Lahman database (year 2000) and have always moved forward each year using ficticious players (we never tried to import new rookies - essentially the MLB 2000 year seeded our league).

We've never edited or attempted to modify any files. Never ran catobase or any other third party tool. We also never watch or have broadcasted the all-star games (knowing the issues around them). They have always been simulated (Zebrowski wasn't a part of the all-star game anyway... he's lucky to be on a 1 year $300,000 contract as is... even if he did have two of those!)

Any help would be appreciated!

(and I sure hope we'll be moving to a database solution in the next version of the game to remove the chances of such happening in the future

)

Hmmm... so I'm guessing the answer is it can't be fixed?

Would really like to know as it is holding up our online league at this point... and we'd all like to start playing again.
