Computer Disconnected from Network

I'm running 6.12, and yesterday when doing exports started getting the message:

"Error: The Computer is disconnected from the network!" and the exports don't go through. I got the same error when doing the internet connection test from Online League Setup. The online problem is that the computer IS connected to the network. I can get on the internet without problems, I can send and receive e-mail, I can post on message boards...everything else is working fine. Any ideas what's causing this and how I can fix it?

Note: I found a possible solution after searching related to a showhtml file. However, that's an old question, so I'm not sure its relevant to my situation (hopefully it is, that would make things simple). That answer was here.
