Salary Cap Issue

My team is real close to salary cap for current year and I plan to address in off season by trading/releasing players that I want for this year but not long range.

However in trying to resign possible FA's it will not let me resign some of them because it says it will put me over cap, which it will for NEXT year not this year.

Is there any way around this except to release/trade players now which I really don't want to do!!!

I have not seen this, in fact I have seen just the opposite...that it allows for "going over the cap".....stumped by this.

This sounds like it may be an online league rule, not a game restriction. Might be worth asking about that as well.

even weirder, if I total my payroll for next year it is just over 61M (with a 65M cap) giving msg on 2 players trying to resign for just over 1M each!!!!

Do you have the available money for contract extensions for these players?

I have had the same problem. The game will not let me resign my players for the next year cap. I play with a $110 mil cap and a $25 mil cash max. I make about $140-150 mil a year, so i always have the max in cash. I am using version 4.1 on windows xp. If you need any other info, please feel free to PM me or email me. Thanks

Hopefully the cause of this will be revealed down the road.

I do not expect you guys to devote man hours to a problem that two people are having.

Thanks Anyways

What is your current payroll for next year?

(Add up all players who are not going to be free agents... then add in the cost of all coaches, and any extensions you have already signed.)

The game doesn't take the salary cap into effect when calculating available money.
