Okay... I downloaded the free version of OOTP5 because, yes, I'm a noob. When I click on the shortcut to it on my desktop a popup comes up saying,

"An invalid parameter was passed to the returning function, or the object was not in a state that permitted the funtion to be called. This value is equal to the E_INVALIDARG standard COM return value."

Then I click okay and another popup comes up saying,

"Error InitDirectDraw"

What do I do?

Make sure your Direct X and video drivers are updated, then go into the OOTP folder open the game config file and toggle the 3D setting. Then try again.

How do I update that stuff?

I updated all that stuff and it still comes up with the same message.

My computer is gay.

It wont let me open the game config. It doesn't do anything when I click on it.

You need to just uninstall the game and reinstall it.

Finally got it...I was able to open my ootp folder and toggle the 3d off and it worked. Thanks.
