No World Series?

I tried to do a search for this but couldn't find an example of what I have going on.

I am playing a historical league and am in 1969. I added Montreal, Seattle, San Diego, and Kansas City to my league this year and split the AL//NL into two divisions each.

Everything played out just fine for the whole season. I did not change anything with the Playoff Structure, which is a League Championship series of 7 games and a World Series of 7 games. I believe I am in my 12th or so year in the league and have never had any problems with the playoffs.

Much to my surprise at the end of the year the game created 4 playoff teams per League so there are now 8 total playoff teams. Therefore the first round of playoffs mirrors the Divisional Series in real-life MLB, and the 2nd round would be the League Championship series. However since there are only 2 rounds in my Playoff Structure, the game did not create a World Series round. So now I'm stuck. I have no idea why the game decided to add 4 playoff teams this year for no reason.

Can anyone help? I'd like to finish my season and make changes to the Playoff Structure so that in future years it only takes the Division Winners from each League for Round 1, and Round 2 is the World Series instead of taking 2 teams in each Division.

Thanks!
