4.2 bug
opend ootp after applying the patch....everything was fine until i moved ootp to the other side of my screen and the news scroll bar at the bottom stayed...meaning its now in the middle of the main screen
meaning its keepin the position of the newsticker from when you previsiouly moved it |

Nope, rebooting has no effect. It must be something with how the game is redrawing... looks like it is using some sort of absolute coordinates rather than coordinates based on the window. I'm running XP if that makes any difference.

heh something small but thought i would point it out.
In the transactions screen, if you name your minor league team, it overlaps as the team name does not center itself so basically seeing the number of minor leaguers is void |

Well... something has changed since 4.1. In prior versions it didn't scroll properly, but it was in the right place, and wasnt as bothersome as this bug.

Bump.
Any thoughts? This seems like it oughta be fixable and I hope it is. I love OOTP and am looking forward to playing with the new patch, but this is really preventing me from enjoying doing so. |

At this point I have no clue about this problem, it is not something that any of the testers had a problem with so it is really something that we need to know more about. At times certain problems only show up with certain types of configuarations, etc and are hard to nail down.
We will continue to look into it but right now it is just too early to know. |

I am having this happen on windows 2000 as well. Here is how I can produce the problem:
1) Set the screen resolution to 1024x768. 2) Open OOTP and stay on the standings screen. 3) Move the OOTP window down so it is cut off by the bottom of the screen. The scroll bar will stay at the bottom of the screen when it should move off the edge. It stays this way until I minimize the game and then restore it. |

I also have this problem.
I have a new laptop and have no problems running graphics intensive 3D games. It's not the computer. Whatever the last patch did with the ticker is the source of the problem. Any future patch (or a quick fix for this one) should have an option to turn the ticker off. That would take care of it in the short term. Or, make me a tester. I always have these "unfixable" problems.

I have not seen this personally, I'm running an Athon 1.2 gig, 512 meg of RAM, Vodoo 5500 agp graphics card. No issues related to display at all.

Hmm...I'm running a pentium 4 1.7 gig, 256 meg of RAM, geforce4 440. should be no problems. like i originally mentioned, i can run any graphics-intensive 3d game with no problems or slowdown whatsoever, even at the highest possible resolutions.
This is a problem for quite a few people, and none of us know why. Rebooting doesn't help. Nothing helps. It's an obnoxious error in an otherwise wonderful game. Please realize that the 4.2 patch is the cause of the problem, as it was fine for all of us in 4.1. Any fixes or ways to turn the ticker off would be much appreciated. |

I'm seeing this problem on both a win98 machine and a win2k machine. After rebooting, OOTP as the only thing running, still have the problem.
I believe it is the update. I reverted back to 4.1 and don't have the problem.
