I need help! Historical career
Last night I went ahead and downloaded OOTP4 and downloaded the latest version. Everything went fine with that. I then followed the step by step directions to start a historical league in 1907. I downloaded the histroical data base, unzipped it and created it's very own folder. I created a new league, made sure it was histroical, made sure I had the correct path to where the data base was and made sure it was on 4.5db and put the year on 1907. I then hit the import button and it started creating a league. Then this box popped up called INFORMATION and it said in the box "Unable to open data base" I then hit the "OK" button and it started generating coaches. My league was set up how I set it in 1907 but there were no players anywhere. Not on teams, not in Free Agent pools, nowhere. I do have coaches and scouts and all that. I treid this several times going over the step by step procedure each time and it does the same thing. What can I do? Also, I now have several leagues that I have created by this. How do you go about deleting a league. I have like 4 or 5 now from trying to get my rosters imported. I would appreciate any help. Thanks everyone

What did you name the league, it must be a unique name. Did you d/l the "generic" database or access version? The "access" version won't work with the game.

There were several different league names I came up with. Does that make a difference though. I had the Major Dobreski League,
Gamecock Baseeball League (I am U of South Carolina grad) Trojan Baseball League(my high school nickname) I originally downloaded the microsoft access 2000 version and then tiger fan gave me another link to just the rev45db? I think that is what it was called. Keep in mind it is not in front of me since I am at work. How do I get to the generic one? Does what I call my league matter? How can I erase some of the leagues I created that I dont need? |

(file extensions are often key parts of OOTP add-on instructions). The FAQ walk through for historical leagues is here (please read it and follow it's instructions ):http://www.400softwarestudios.com/bo...&threadid=5497 The direct DL link to the correct Lahman DB (in CSV format) is here: http://baseball1.info/statistics/lahman_45-gv.zip Make sure you unzip this file into an easy to remeber location, example: C:\Stats\ or C:\DB\ etc. You will need to type in this same pathway within the game to import player info. I don't do historical play, so players that use the Lahman historical DB or any revised Lahman DB need to pipe up here to advise on any new historical DB's or if there are any changes in the FAQ for historical players using OOTP4 v4.2a. Assuming none the leagues you want to delete were not the last league opened in OOTP4 just use Windows Explorer and delete any of the league folders you no longer want within the OOTP4 directory. You can tell which folders are league folders because the folders end in .lg. |
