Error On Startup

I am getting the an error on startup; the background screen flashes very briefly then I get the following dialog box:

APP_FRAMEWORK::startup - Failed to load background image. Please reinstall OOTP.

I want to avoid reinstalling OOTP if possible. So please let me know if there is an alternative.

Also, I remotely suspect that the error was caused by something else on my PC, because I am getting a error in loading the splash screen of another game that I play. However, it and OOTP are the only ones having this particular problem.

PS:
I have OOTP 2007, latest patch version.

PC specs:
Win XPPro SP2 w/ most recent update (last night)
Intel P4 2.8 Ghz
1MB RAM
tons of HD space

Nevermind.

I do have to reinstall. It looks like Picasa took over all of the image files--which means it was a wife-error.
