Negro League Players and the Lahman Database
I am using the Lahman Database v4.5 for the NABL 1901 season, and want to add Negro League players to it, so they will be rookies in their initial year.
Q - how do i go about doing this? Q2 - is there a Negro League database file that I can easily add to the Lahman Database? Q3 - I heard a rumour that there is a database a bit more edited than the Lahman v4.5 one. Is this true? Thanks in advance. Dean |

Q) Simply add the players stats into the database, ensure that the fields lineup properly. You'll need to add entries in the master, batting, pitching, and fielding files for each player.
Q2) I heard there was, but I don't know the location, try doing a search on the board and you may find it. (Edit - I found it, its in an earlier Lahman format so if you want to use a Lahman 4.5 database you may have to reformat some of the entries) Q3) Yes there are several, some that adjust the players stats for more historical performance... and some that merely fix some of the issues associated with the default Lahman database. (Missing info, Incorrect player IDs, Improper sorting) Depending on what you are looking for will decide which version you want to use. Edit - Try this link. http://www.tresclub.com/downloads/downloads.htm This link contains a download for the Negro League database, and a revised Lahman 4.5 database (the one with my name). This database is the same as the default Lahman database, but corrects some of the issues listed above. Hope this helps. Last edited by Scott Vibert; 11-17-2002 at 12:31 AM. |

What do you mean up to date? The Lahman Databases all have stats until 2001. So there really isn't a difference in the "Up to Date-ness" of the stats. What is different is when the files were created, and what changes are made. You'll want to check out the ReadMe files for the variety of databases to ensure you get the one that most closely meets your needs.

All are Good
Not saying the original is not rocking - it is.
![]() Just an amazing resource for the OOTP community and thanks are not given enough to everyone who contributes stuff like this. Up to date in terms of the earlier players. Ankit's modification off the 4.5.2 build seems to correct a few errors in importing, as mentioned in the read me. |

Ah.. yeah his database alters the stats a bit to make sure that the players come in with abilities closer to their MLB proven track records.
When you said up to date, I wasn't sure what you meant, almost was thinking that you saw the date on the file and made the connection that it was the most recent, and therefore most up to date.
