OOTP8 historical league freezing

I have the most up to date version of OOTP 8.

I have been playing a historical league since 1900. I have the league setup with all the default settings including expansion, importing real rookies, and adjusting financial trends.

For 69 years, i had a amateur draft occur every June 16th. This last season, in 1969, i decided to eliminate the draft and have players appear on the teams they originally appeared.

1969 went fine, early in 1970, players appeared in the DFA list. Great. I move my players to my minors, and keep simming. Early April, usually the 5th or 6th, 2-3 days before the begining of the regular season, the game freezes.

I don't get an error message, the game doesnt close, it just doesnt advance. The screen says it's simulating, but it's not. It's as if it is waiting to do something, but nothing is happening. I can't seem to find my way around this. I got a great 70 year history, and don't want to lose what i've done.

Does anyone have any idea what i can do to save this game?

Thanks

My first thought is that a 70 year old league is going to be vary taxing upon your computer. How much RAM do you have? Have you tried any of the following suggestions:

I actually think my computer is handling this particular league very well. I have not noticed a slowdown in simming at all. I don't save game logs, I don't auto-save excpet for the 1st of the year.

The game just gets to april 7th, and it seems like it's trying to sim something, when nothing is there, it should be just advancing to the next day.

Would there be any way to import the history/ rosters of this league into a new league and just continue with a new league. Unfortunatly, i have not backed up the league in a while.

You might be able to save it as a template and then start a new game in the template. You'd lose your manager history, but you might retain most of what is left.

I tried this last night, and it's working great. All the history, the leaderboards, everything is still there, and I have simmed 1 full season, without issue.

Thanks alot!!
