OOTP4 and Virtual PC
Does anyone know if OOTP4 runs under Virtual PC, a Windows emulator for the Mac? (I am aware that Vic-20 asked this question in April and Alan Arkin asked it again in July, but neither one received a satisfactory answer--or any answer at all in Arkin's case!)
After downloading and installing OOTP4, and despite having DirectX 8.1 installed, I get the following error message when trying to launch the game: This program has performed an illegal operation and will shut down. OOTP4 caused an invalid page fault in module VTCPAK33.DLL at 015f:024a8467. I run Windows 98 under Virtual PC 5 on a Mac G4. Under this setup, I've got 214 MB of RAM and 819 MB of free space on the disk on which OOTP is loaded. Any ideas? Because of their decision to team up with the Trunzos in releasing Title Bout, I am very eager to support .400 Software. But if I can't launch the game, I can't even buy it! (And I am also dying to play it.) Thanks for any help you can give me.

David,
Maybe I am reading too much into this post but it sounds like this individual has it running via Virtual PC maybe you should try contacting him. |

Virtual PC and OOTP4
Steve,
Many thanks for the link. I read the message the same way you do, and will contact Chuckbo privately to see if I can pick up any pointers. Btw, I second his original sentiment: a native OOTP for the Mac would be superb. And I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Strat-O-Matic lost my loyalty forever when it dropped the Mac version of its game. No other company has moved in to grab the Mac market. Why not? Thanks again, Steve--although I am still looking for technical answers to my launch problem!
