What is "Error: Hyper Text"?

I am using 9.2.13 version.

While looking at the team news page, I got an error messase saying something about "parse", followed by an error message like this:

Error:

Hyper Text:: set hyper text button callback info invalid link info 1

I clicked the "help" button and the game froze.

I think it has something to do with typos in the news story in the edit mode.

What causes this and how can it be avoided?

I have noticed this really had started to happen fairly often in V2007 and now in OOTP9.

The team news stories show errors in the spacing and typos.

I went into the boxscore of the problem news story and copied the plain text, the I went back to the News page and edited the problem story that was causing the hyper text error.

I deleted the coded news stories with all the tokens and replaced it with just the plain english text.

I no longer get the Hyper Text error.

The tokens in the news stories get corrupted often. It happened in V2007 and now again in OOTP9.

This is really getting to be a pain.

It is occurring more and more as I do more game recaps.

Is this a bug in the game?

Is there some way to avoid this?

What causes the gaps in the game recaps write-ups?

It will leave out a letter in a player's name or team name. I get this is what parse error means.

You cannot tell it when you are writing the recap write-ups. Everything looks fine. It always shows up the next time you select a team from the schedule page to check the team pitching or line-ups.

same issue

I am glad that you posted this item. I am experiencing the exact same issue. I have not been able to determin how to prevent this from happening.

By any chance are you writting your recaps somewhere other than the game and then copying and pasting it into the recap?

This probably doesn't help much and I guess you probably already know this, but hypertext are links. Are you adding links incorrectly like doing the tags wrong or not including links that the game thinks should be there?

And the parse error probably indicates that the order in which the parts of the news story is incorrect. It'd be like taking a normal sentence and then mixing up the order of the parts of speech. A human might still understand, but a computer probably can't.

Sorry, I know very little about how the game does it's news stories, but maybe the above helps.

I'm out of my depth here but player names, team names and league names are automatically made into links (hypertext), so be sure that the player or team or league name is spelled exactly as the game does it and make sure there are no leading, trailing, or buried spaces anywhere in that link.

That's all I can think of.
