Game Crashing when Playoffs Finished

Version: 9.2.13...updated to the latest version.
PC/MAC: PC
What were you doing? Finishing the 2028 season, and the OSA automatically scouts the ML.
What happened? When I finished the 2028 season and after the playoffs are over, I get the "OSA is scouting the ML" message window, but when the status bar gets to 100%, the game crashes and I get the "ootp9.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" message. I'm in the year 2028, so this has never happened before. This happens every time, and I have saved the game right before the end of the playoffs. I've tried everything I can think of, but it continues to happen every time.
Reproducible? Yes

I have updated the game to the most current version, and have done everything possible I could think of to fix this problem, with no luck.

Please help!

Thanks!!

How much RAM does your computer have and how many leagues do you have running?

You might try making a copy of your league, disabling scouting, then simming ahead and reenabling scouting. Probably not a good long-term solution, but it might squeeze you through.

Ive got 3GB of RAM, so I wouldn't think that would be the problem...

How do I disable the auto-scouting?

Thanks!

That would depend upon your settings. How many leagues and teams, please? Standard MLB setup would be fine. If you've got a whole boatload of leagues with all of your settings turned up high, after building up enough history, no amount of RAM will avoid problems.

You don't disable auto-scouting. You disable scouting entirely. Game -> Game Setup -> Global Setup -> uncheck Use Complete Scouting System.

I am running 6 leagues...ML, 2 AAA leagues, and 3 AA leagues. At most, according to the task manager, the OOTP program uses like 500MB of RAM.

Anyone else have any other ideas? I can post the debug error if any of the OOTP tech support people actually look at these forums...

I love this game, and usually play it every day, but have been unable to for almost a week...I dropped like $40 on this awesome game, and REALLY think the OOTP team should fix the problem like every other game manufacturer would...

Thanks!

Did you try the idea of turning scouting off?
