problem importing

whenever i import a league prior to 1998 all hitters have their 1998 stats included in their career stats. for example, i've started several leagues in 1989 (i'm a griffey fan) and the 1998 stats are already there. this really sucks when i'm trying to re-write the record books. has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how can i fix it? any help would greatly be appreciated and i thank you in advance.

They import, and then go away once they play, as far as I can tell.

THey need to base their ratings on something, that is why they are showing up.

i've played through a season or two hoping they would go away, but they never do. it get's really frustrating after a while.

What version of the game are you using?

This is a problem with the database you are using.

The default database is improperly sorted. I released a version of the database that is the same as the default database, but fixes these improper sorting issues as well as some others.
