Problems with the name.dat file and "Joe Unknowns"

I understand this is a common problem so i'm somewhat surprised there arent any threads related to it, or none that i found anyway.

The problem we're having is at random times and with random owners SOME, but not all, owners have the issue where Joe Unknowns appear on rosters and/or the rosters become scrambled with players from other teams.

I know that re-installing the names.dat file solves this, but has there been any other resolutions to this and more importantly, how about a patch that solves it?

This is an on-line league? If the GMs aren't getting current copies of the names.dat file when it changes, then this will always happen. The commishes need to make sure to get an updated file to everyone and not simply include it in one export that some GMs might miss.

Everyone is using 9.2.13?

yep an online league and i've had it happen when uploading the names.dat file with the league file and when i don't. I'll start doing it with every upload again. As far as i know everyone has the patch, but i'll confirm that.

In some on-line leagues, we've experienced this and the solution has always been to include both names.dat and retired.dat in EVERY new file.
