"Lineup" "Roster" "Pitching" tabs causing OOTP to freeze - Vista
Other tabs work fine. Whenever I try to access my lineup, the game freezes.
I have re-installed and re-downloaded and it still happens. Thanks in advance. |

Welcome to the Vista club. Good luck getting any help. It appears the acquiring new customers for OOTPX is far more important than helping old customers out. You will get the same run around as everyone else has, blaming Vista etc, when OOTP is the only program that does not work properly. Now it appears you have to be a HOF member to even get a response. It's ridiculous. I will never buy another product w/ this type of support. I was really looking forward to OOTPX until this came up. Now I see it has been an issue for others for several months and they have received no help. I will take my business elsewhere and be sure to post about the level of support received on other forums in other to warn others.

I'm sorry that you're having trouble. I know that it can be frustrating. There are some small percentage people out there with issues whose cause we cannot currently identify. If we could figure out what is wrong, then we could probably fix it. I'd love to be able to figure out the Vista issues, but I don't use Vista and none of the beta testers are having any trouble using OOTP 9 or 10 on Vista either.
Dieselboy, does this behavior happen in just one league or in multiple leagues? Can you try creating a new, simple league to see if it still happens? What happens when you view the free agent list? What about the substitution screen when playing out a game? Any crashes then? |

Thanks for the response Nutlaw.
I tried the multiple league thing. Still crashes. So it's whenever the game goes into "Roster", "Lineup" or "Pitching." Nothing happens on the free agent list. |

I don't get it. I don't know what might be going wrong here.
What happens if you go a Player Profile and switch the view from injury to morale in the lower left hand corner of that screen? Did the game once work fine or have you always had this problem with it? |

Did anything change with your computer when this problem started happening that you can remember? Did you update a video card driver or anti virus software? Did you change any hardware? Did you install any new software?

I am also having this problem. Just switched to Vista a few weeks ago.
It weird, though, it was working fine for about a week, then it started doing this. Vista Home Premium, 64-bit. Here's the error log from Event Viewer: Faulting application ootp9.exe, version 2.0.0.0, time stamp 0x49646aec, faulting module ootp9.exe, version 2.0.0.0, time stamp 0x49646aec, exception code 0xc0000094, fault offset 0x004919aa, process id 0xee0, application start time 0x01c9d8298579ab6c.

It also crashes when you click "Possible free agents" in the Front Office tab.
But not on the transactions tab. Or free agent list. So it may be related to whatever the default category that is selected when displaying a list of players on a single team? It's not getting stuck, where it stops responding for a long time. It gives the error immediately when clicking any of these tabs.

Cycled through all the view in free agent list. Default, batter stats, batter ratings, etc. No crash.
Also, "Upcoming free agents" tab in league transactions does not crash. It's the "Possible Free Agents" in the Front Office tab for a team that crashes. "Player Strategy" in the Strategies tab also crashes. Team strategy does not. So the crash seems to happen when there is supposed to be a list of players on a single team in the screen with all the different view options.

This has been an issue for quite sometime now. I hope they aren't acting like it's something new. It hasn't been addressed to this point and I'm not keeping my fingers crossed that it will EVER be addressed. The fact that the developers of the game rarely chime in on these issues clearly shows that customer service is not a top priority and greed is their main motivation. Since OOTPX is close to release we will just pretend that "only a small percentage of people out there" are having this issue. I'm sure that everyone who has the issue posts on the forum. Since a new product is being released soon, I would hate for there to be more than a "small percentage of people out there" having this problem. Who cares if not everyone is getting support, as long as it's a small percentage all is good. Those of us that are in that "small percentage" are just SOL.

I'm experiencing the same problem. It started the same day that this topic was posted. I saw this thread and was hoping that it would get resolved quickly.
Everything that CaptainObvious and Dieselboy have posted so far has been accurate as I am having the crashes in the same places. I'm running Vista and up until this point, the game has played flawlessly. However, I do remember on the day this problem started that I was playing the game with no problems and when I clicked on the Lineups Tab, it caused my entire computer to lock up including the keyboard, mouse and desktop. I had to turn the power off manually and reboot my computer. Ever since then, the problem has occurred every time that I load the game. I hope this may help in some way. |

Questions, maybe to help narrow down the problem:
Are you guys running 32-bit or 64-bit Vista? (I'm on 64-bit) Also, do you have a C:\Program Files (x86)\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 9\Microsoft.VC90.CRT folder (containing 3 .dlls and a manifest)? People using Vista that I know that have it still working did not have that folder. However, I do. I deleted the folder and the game wouldn't load at all, so I'm guessing it's needed, but could this be part of the problem (either a symptom or cause)?
