Another Vista Question

Quick technical question. Bought a new computer that runs Vista, and did not realize that there are well documented issues with running OOTP on Vista. After about six months, my computer started crashing whenever I attempted to access the Waiver Wire, Free Agent, Trade tabs. I fixed this (using advice from an older thread) by unistalling the game and reinstalling the game to a different directory. Others fixed the same problem by adding a new partition to the hard drive and installing the version there, but I took the easier route. Thankfully, it worked, and the game is now running fine. However, have one small but incredibly irritating problem: I can no longer save customized Views or Filters when looking at rosters. Anything that I customize just deletes itself whenever I leave the current screen for anything.

Any thoughts on this?

No, I've never heard of that before. Has anyone else who has followed a similar path ended up with a similar problem?

You are using version 9.2.13, mrlewis3333?

Yeah, it is bizarre. Am running the latest version.

Do you know where the customized views are saved within game? Maybe I can edit the file directly.

Per Red Sox Fan a long time ago:
"The views are embedded in the files within the /tables subdirectory under the /data directory in your OOTP directory. I copied the "all_players_views" file from my OOTP7 game into the OOTP directory and all my customized views were there. I suspect you can just copy the whole directory over and you'll get all your customized views and filters into OOTP8."

I don't think they are easily editable.

Thanks for the info. Does give me an idea, as I have another version of the game on an older PC. Perhaps I can copy the directory on that computer over with my customized views onto the vista computer. We'll see.

Please let us know how it turns out. I wonder if something in that tables folder is getting corrupted and causing the other problems.

Copied over the file and it worked. The old file must have been corrupted. Strange. Thanks for the help everyone.
