Free version shuts down
I downloaded the free version og OOTP8 yesterday. I actually bought it a year ago, but thought it would be nice to have without the licence-"problem" for my laptop, and other future computers.
BUT...when I have setup my fictional league, and want to start playing, it shuts down with an error message. Could it be a problem that I'm not connected to the internet? Could it be searching for something online? |

I'm having the same problem.
I'm running Mac OSX 10.5 and every time I try to start a league it crashes. The report gave me an error message with this:
Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x00000000232a91bc What can I do? |

Guys, I don't know all of your particulars, but I'd suggest that you uninstall the game, delete everything related to OOTP. I'm not sure that I wouldn't even delete your Saved Games directory, if you've carried one over at all, but it wouldn't be mandatory at this point. Also, after you "think" you've deleted everything, go to your Start menu, or whatever it's called on a Mac, Run %appdata% and delete Out of the Park directories and any SI Interactive directories that may be present there. This should allow you to do a fresh install of the game and see if you get the same error.

and for you it's always during the populating nations phase? Does it just crash or does it give you the same error message in post #2?

I'll look into it. Don't know how quickly I can provide any additional info, but I'll see what I can find out. Sorry for the inconvenience. Meanwhile, try the X demo if you haven't already. Download Demo

Sorry guys, of course it's not intentional that the game crashes for you! Let me see what kind of info I can rustle up for you. Is everyone in this thread a Mac user?

Microsoft Visual C +_+ Runtime error
OOTP will not allow me to open up one of my leagues (MLB). I keep receiving "Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime Library - Runtime Error". I had just finished playing a game and went to save my season when the message first appeared. It will not allow me to get back to MLB. I can open another league I have though (British Baseball League) which has two more teams than MLB. Does anyone know why this is happening and how it can be fixed? Any help is appreciated.
