Help please! Abnormal Program Termination

Hello. I'm a college student and play OOTP4 on my computer at school. Before leaving for winter break, I burned my OOTP4 folder onto a CD and copied it to my dad's computer at home. I then used my purchase ID (only the second time I have used it I believe) to register the game. Then I started it up, and quit out of it, just to see if everything looked like it was working okay. The game started and looked alright, but when I quit, instead of saving it gave me the following message:

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\OOTP4\OOTP4.EXE

Abnormal program termination

This was all in a box with the header, "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library."

The game did not save at all, just gave me this message and then terminated. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you are trying to use file from a burned CD they are all listed as "read-only" if you right click on them and check the properties, you need to highlight them and change the properties to "archive".
