OOTP 8 free version not responding

i downloaded the free version of the game and im still in my first season (regular MLB 2007 season) late on in july my game crashed as i was about to make a trade
ever since my save wont load, it will reach 87% when i tries to load my league and stop responding
can anyone help me?

It may sound odd, but the first question is how long is it staying at 87% before you decide it is not responding?

as soon as it reaches 87% i have that little window that popups saying program is not responding i should either "check online for solution and close program" or "close program"
the first option never works so i choose the latter
Im using windows vista

I'm experiencing the same issue at 87%. It says loading messages...

I don't delete my e-mail messages in the game so that might have to do something with it. Anyone help?

Windows XP btw.

Yeah it slows up my computer bigtime. Does anybody know how to fix that?

I had this problem for a little while when i was managing a team in a created league. I had to remove myself for a couple of days in-game to allow the AI to work through the problem.

I've just finished winter meetings in my first year without any more problems but i still save every now and then just in case.
