Well what has happened is for some reason after year #1 we had a few of the people that were retired show up twice on the retired list. Its been a pain and I cant figure out how to remove one of them so only the other shows up. Any help on this would be great please. Below is a link of our league files if anyone can perhaps take a look and tell me how to fix this.

1. Go to your league file folder (NARBL.lg folder)
2. Go into the NEWS folder 3. Find the lnews.txt and open it 4. Edit the txt file as you need it 5. Open game.. and see results Hope this helps Kurtis

I need a way to somehow edit the retire.dat file I think To look if i can remove one of the doubles for each. Just editing the txt file is only good for the season that they retired. And each year it will re-write.

Each season you start off with a totally NEW lnews.txt so it doesn't re-write... it overwrites.Kurtis

The problem I seem to have is that in the current season I am in 1979 only shows players that retired in 1978. The "double player retiring incident" happend the first year in 1978 , and i cant edit the players from them since they dont show up in the current txt in the new section.
I wish I could explain it better Jason Ortlepp |

. As for the "lnews.txt" mentions of the duplicate players, that is just cosmetic and you can follow Kurtis' instructions on how to clean that page up or you can just wait until you proceed to next year and the problem will correct itself. |

I think you are right Killebrew.. the RETIRED.DAT file has to be edited. The only other thing I can think of.. is to go into the Retired Players screen in the game and edit the duplicates to have NO NAME or something... I tried using the stat editor to edit their stats... but it doesn't let you at the retired players. I've never seen or heard this before... I wonder what causes this. I'm stumped EDIT: This is a historical league by the looks of it... Kurtis

If someone sims ahead to the end of the season (or multiple seasons), then unzips the league file on top of the existing folders to go back to the original date, would you get results like this?
That's the only way I can think to have a player retire twice. Do the multiple players in the HOF have identical stats?
