DOS Prompt

Not really OOTP-related (I'm using this to play Baseball 94, actually

), but I figured I could get some help here. I have no DOS Prompt on my computer that I can find. I have a DOS folder on one of my hard drives, but the executable files don't work...

Try going to "Start" -> "Run" and then type in "cmd".

Didn,t work. Also tried "c:\cmd" and "d:\cmd" (my 2 HDs) and it didnd't work neither. I think it may have been deleted somehow.

Hmm, depending on the OS, don't you guys mean the word "command"? I didn't think "cmd" would do anything in win95/98. Typing in "c:\cmd" would mean there is a program called cmd.exe or cmd.com, a batch file named cmd.bat, or a link to a program/batch file named cmd.exe/com/bat in your C:\ root

Are you using XP? If yes, maybe there is a 'cmd' program built into that OS (even though XP was supposed to be DOS-less). If you are using XP you may have to get a DOS emulator too, I bet tons of XP users here know a lot more about this than I do though

I'm using Win98. I got a new HD about 6 months ago, my old c: drive is now d: and my new one is c: and there isn't even a dos folder on my c: drive, only a "dosboot" folder.

You don't need a DOS folder, don't know if I've ever seen one actually. Most of the dos commands in win95/98 are run from the WINDOWS/COMMAND folder, but you should never need to go there either. COMMAND.COM is usually in the windows directory as well as the C:\ root directory. Have you tried typing "command" (without the quotes) in the START --> RUN box? That is certainly what you should do anyway

I would guess FPS baseball 94 needs to be run in full DOS mode, not just a window - that means rebooting into DOS mode and find the FPS program and running it that way.

http://www.the-underdogs.org/ will have a ton of DOS game issues answered - they cover every possible DOS issue and they have very talented old school volunteer support folks.

Edit: They also have FPS Baseball 94 available for DL
