400 software and netscape also IE problem

My Internet explorer is currently not working forcing me to use netscape until I figure out what's wrong with IE.

Has anyone had any problems downloading 400 games or updates using netscape?

Also if any of our freindly techs here could give me a clue on where to start with finding my IE problem I would appreciate it. Last night the wife was checking her email when she got the IE needs to send error report to MS. She sent the report and then of course IE shut itself off. Now whenever I click the IE button the homepage comes up immediatly followed by the error report message which of course shuts down IE, hence I can't get into IE at all. Looked at the report it wants to send at the bottom it says this file will be sent along with the report.

c:\docume~1\user\LOCALS~1\temp\wers.tmp.dir00\appc ompat.txt

Running a new Pent4 with xphome on cable modem no problems before this.

Any ideas?

Find the "Internet Explorer" folder in your Program Files... open up the folder.

Inside the folder you should find a setup file... eg. ie5setup.exe or ie6setup.exe

Double click the version you had installed.... and this will install IE again hopefully fixing the problem.

Hope this helps

If you cant find the file that Kurtis refers to, here is the Microsoft link for IE 6.0

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

The download can be up to 81MB, so I would try Kurtis' option first.
