Financials question

Why does a team have less $$ Available to sign Free Agents then they have Cash in the offseason ?

For Example, my league is in Free Agent period and the Red Sox read :

Salary Cap : 100,000,000
Total Payroll : 93,329,650
Last Year Income : 69,945,500
Total Cash (I set this) : 6,670,350
Available Money : 0

The cap is 100 Mil and I've editted the cash to be the difference between the Cap & Payroll yet it says I have no available money.

My only open FA Bid is 1,250,000 on 1 player... so my thought should be that I have 5,419,650 left to spend...... not 0 !!!

What gives ? and is there any way to fix this so the Available Money matches what it should?

Thanks,
Chas

Even with your cash your club is projected to lose over 25 million dollars this year, that's probably why the game won't let you get further in the hole. Even if it's make belief money those FA's still want to get paid.

doesn't make sense

Just one more reason why they need to fix the financials... You should be able to just use the Salary Cap portion of the game.

Hell, the Ottawa Senators still have players even though their team is bankrupt :-)

And if that were the case, why should I still have 18 Mil to spend on Contract Extensions

Because you could have 18 million dollars of contracts up at the end of the season

Acutally I think most people would agree that this system is pretty good. I dont think that most teams would go after free agents if they were losing 25 million every year.
