ootp 9 (steam) crash during startup

I just bought this on Steam. It crashes on startup. I have the newest graphics driver and none of this is relevant: OOTP Developments - Kayako eSupport Help Desk Software

Any ideas?

That's funny, the page you link to says to contact the third party developer.

Yeah, I know, but it says "to determine whether your question should be directed to the game developer or to Steam Support", and I'm not part of our official support team, but from what I recall questions like these of the steam version were directed to steam. I could very well be wrong and you might as well send a support ticket to OOTP's support system too (see the corresponding link in my sig), but from the description of your problem it sounds to me like a problem with steam. Crashing on startup just doesn't sound like a problem we often see with regular non-steam OOTP.
