Kid Nichols Again (More Info)

Well another season down and pitcher/1B Kid Nichols does it again!!!

appears in 175 Games (out of 140 scheduled) and also noticed this time he also had 711 AB 104 more than anyone else so it looks like he got some double credit for AB's too, which messes up his avg!!!!!!

Hope this can be fixed!!!

Found it!!!! (I Think)

In every game he was pitched he shows in box score as being in lineup TWICE!!!!!

game log shows him as batting 3rd in game at 1B then 9th as P!!!

I wonder if the confusion is happening because presumably you have him set in the lineup at 1B so the game tries to bat him there... but then it also automatically bats the pitcher 9th, so it tries to bat him there too...

Have you ever played out one of these games, what does the game do when you play them out, or watch it?

I'll try and test that today

Here's how I did it

With pos as SP put him in rotation

Change pos to 1B, put in depth chart as 1B starter with another guy as utility for 1B (I ASSUMED game would use util guy when he was pitching) and put in lineup as batting 3rd

change pos back to SP and export team file for simming

well just played one out watched pbp, he comes up to plate bats 3rd as 1B then again comes up to plate as P in the 9 hole

Ok, now time to be creative

What effect would no putting him in the starting lineup but listing him as the starter in the Depth Chart with a blank spot in the lineup have... (maybe the game would do things more correctly then), or perhaps him being listed as the backup with a 100% PT percentage.

Results:

In Depth Chart with NO Backup

Nobody in #3 batting slot in Lineup or playing 1B

Game plays another 1B whether he is pitching or not

No 1B in depth chart the Kid listed as backup 100%, game plays him at 1B and Pitcher when pitching
