End of Season Tie Crash

I was unable to find any info on this in a search, so hopefully this is new.

I'm playing a two team league in which team A plays team B 162 times. It's set up as a replay league, no financials, no fatigue, no injuries, no coaches. When I reach the end of the season, if the two teams are tied (each at 81-81) the game crashes. When I start the game up again, the season is over, and all player stats have been lost. I do get the "Season is over" message with the button to reset the league, but I can't view the individual accomplishments since players no longer have stats.

I'm guessing this has to do with the fact that there are no playoffs with only two teams, and since the teams are tied, there can be no winner. I would think it would schedule a 1-game playoff, but it does not.

Any thoughts?

That's gotta be one heck of a bitter rivalry. Seriously, it appears as if the game was just not designed for that particular league setup (test league I'd guess?). Markus could decide to
a) Redesign this for OOTP5 so that 2 team leagues work even if there is a tie.
b) Prevent the game from allowing 2 team leagues (likely faster coding than fixing this logic).
c) Do nothing and hope most users will not want a 2 team league.

Not sure what else there is to say about this, not trying to be flippant here.

Actually, I agree with you a lot. I don't really think it should be a priority, but I did think it was worth mentioning. My preference would be option A.

Preventing a 2 team league would be ashame, as it is useful for testing and could be fun in some situations.

My main point, though, was just to raise awareness. It doesn't really happen all that often even when the teams are identical.

I agree, for example some of those publicized greatest teams of all time tournaments will have 2 great teams of the past match up against each other for a full 162 games in order to find out the winner. I believe MLB or ESPN did a tourney like that a year or two ago using a different computer baseball sim and a large number of great teams of the past.
