OOTP5 Random Crashes

I've had the game about 25 minutes. I've just been clicking around and I've already gotten two crashes (I haven't even run a sim yet).

Whoa, I just got a crash and the game was just sitting idle! I don't get it. It's the classic:

The instruction at "0x77d5742a" referencfed memory at "0x00000010". The memory could not be "read".

I'm running Windows 2000 pro with Direct X 9.

RAM, etc....other things running?

I turned off 3D and sound and it seems to be fine now.

Unfortunately many of the interface panels have lost their 'skins' and I only get white backgrounds

I've been having crashes whenever I attempt to sim games or open my Manager Screen.

I'm not running any other programs.

For me its definitely the sound, once I turn that off in the external config utility I'm cool. The 3D graphics aren't the problem.

I'm having the same problems. Turning off the sound and 3d helps?

No, it doesn't. I've had it off, and it hasn't helped me one lick.
