ootp5 freezes
I have been playing around for about 10 minutes and the game has already frozen on me twice. i waited for 5 minutes on one of them and it still never recovered. one happened when i tried to click a free agents to get his info and another happened when i clicked team setup. I cannot reproduce them.... seems random.
i am running win98se on a pII 400, 128 mb ram with directx 8.1. |

yeah a rebooted after the first one, all i had running was AIM. i figured it could be a ram issue, but i didnt know this program was such a ram hog.
if i disable 3d mode and turn off sound, you think that would help? |

Same problem here...PIII 800MHZ 128MB RAM ME on a Toshiba Laptop. I CTL-ALT-DEL and closed everything by Systray, Exporer and OOTP. When I load the game, it opens fine, but when I select on any of the main menu choices, nothing happens. If I open windows explorer and hit CTL-ALT-DEL again and choose to "end task" for OOTP, I can ALT-TAB and go back to the game and it the previously selected screen is there. For the next menu choice, I have to again do the same thing: ALT-TAB to Explorer, three-finger salute to "end tasK" and ALT-TAB back to the game to see the refresh (each time the confirmation for end task comes up I choose "cancel").
The system requirements at OOTP5.com require 32 MB, but recommend 64MB of RAM...Is this really a RAM issue? PS - I don't know if it helps, but I did upgrade to DirectX 9. |

Game freeze's
I have a 850mhz pentium and 256k of ram along with a 64m video card and the game freezes on me also, So I dont think it's a ram issue. I disable 3d and sound and it works fine. When I had the 3d and sound enabled the game would freeze and also I would get a directdraw error. I then would reboot and go back into the game and would freeze soon after while in team menus.
What Give's here.........? |

yeah its really not a ram problem. my system resources are 88% free when I am running the program.
what happpens is the program freezes. i can click and drag the program window around by clicking anywhere in the window, not jsut by the top bar. its very strange. it also does not matter whether I am in 3d mode or not... same thing happens. also... if i bring up the task manager, OOTP5 is not listed as "Not responding" Last edited by bunkscene; 02-28-2003 at 04:15 PM. |
