Can't get it to load up for the first time

I am getting an error when I try to run the program for the first time.

It pops up a window that says:

CreateSurface: Backbuffer

NODIRECTDRAWHW

I Click OK and it pops up

InitApp

Error InitDirectDraw

I Click Ok and it goes away...and no program.

Please help!

yes thank you.
I did what you said and I reinstalled DirectX9.0 as well.
It is working now. Thanks for the help. This is a great game!
