Help please!

I just download ootp5, put in my License, and when I went to start the game it told me "No directdrawhd" And shut down ootp5! Any suggestions on how to fix this would be great. Thanks

helpme,

Check to see what version you have of Direct X.

You need at least Direct X 8.1b, but will be fine with Direct X 9.

Let me know if this fixes the problem, if not, I will be glad to help you through it.

Exactly the same problem.

I'm using Win98SE with DirectX 9 on a Dell Inspiron 650MHz with 256MB RAM, onboard graphics card ATI Rage-Mobility with 8MB RAM.

Desktop is set to 1024x768, 32 bit.

OOTP4 always ran without a hitch with same setup. Not sure why I can't fire this one up.

Edit: The exact box that comes up is labelled Createsurface: Backbuffer with the text NODIRECTDRAWHW -> click OK

Next box labelled InitApp: Error InitDirectDraw -> click OK

Back to desktop

Got it to work:

In OOTP5 folder click on icon for Game Configuration, disable Direct3d.
