What happened to gameplay? 5 to 5.01

I've noticed that the new gameplay features that I found in the original release of OOTP5 are now gone in the patched version, or so it seems. Anybody else seeing this?

Here are some examples:

1. Double-play AI seemed to be "fixed" in unpatched version. Players with slower speed ratings (C, D, E) couldn't beat out routine double-play ground balls. Now that I've loaded the patch, the game is playing like OOTP4. Guys with E ratings are beating out double-plays!! It pisses me off. I was thrilled with the change to OOTP5, not so thrilled with the patch.

2. Outfielders with lower arm ratings throw the ball away way too much! I've played 6 games on the patched version now and outfielders have had 5 or 6 wild throws already. Arm strength doesn't equal wild throws, or at least it shouldn't. Didn't see this in the unpatched version.

3. I've also noticed that some of the new gameplay commentary is missing. When I first loaded OOTP5 there was some new commentary for home runs, etc. Now it's all the same as OOTP4, nothing different.

I had played OOTP5 unpatched on a different PC. I got a new PC, downloaded and installed the game and the patch, so this is a clean install. I would go back to playing with the unpatched version, but then I'd be missing out on important fixes.

So, am I just smoking something or am I onto something here? Please let me know, so I don't go crazy trying to figure out what happened.

I don't think that "gameplay" was even touched in the patch, I'll check though.

Steve,

The double-play issue has "fixed" itself. Early in the season, batters were beating out double-play balls left and right. Now that I've played further into the season, it's not happening as frequently anymore. I don't get it, but it's fine now.

The commentary problem is fine, too. As I played more games I got some of the new commentary.

OF throwing errors is still a problem, though. It's not a huge problem, but it is annoying.

Thanks for your help.
