historical leagues
intel celeron 667
128 megs of ram 30 gig hard drive ootp 5.11 i downloaded the new game a few weeks ago. i've been playing with the total minors roster set and had no problems. however, every time i start a historical league the month and day are at zero (for example 0/0/1985). i tried going to edit schedule and changing the start date, but it doesn't do anything. and if i begin play my season begins on januray 1, which is really cheesy. any help would be much appreciated. and i apologize if this has already been addressed. i skimmed through the faq (even the thread on historical leagues) and didn't see anything.

Sorry to bump an old thread - but i have run into this problem as well.
I am using OOTP 5 with most recent patch - I am running a fun modern day Boston franchise that is soon starting year 3. Just for fun, I d/l Ankit's most recent database and wanted to try a 1901 franchise. I have run into the same problem that jahwarrior6395 ran into (getting a date of 0/0/1901) Thinking that I had done something wrong, I deleted the file and tried again - getting the same results. Thinking that maybe my d/l was bad I tried that again (same results) At this point I begain to wonder if the starting date was to old, so I tried for 1970 - still getting the same problem. What is sad is that I have played a historical .lg before and it was fun. I was hoping to try one again if possible. Any thoughts on how I might resolve the matter. If not, than I will just stick with my franchise and "forget" about the past. Thanks, Derek

Thanks fo the response - I appreciate the time you took to look at it. I don't believe I said that it was the game or the database - in fact I mentioned how I have played a historical .lg before and found it to be very enjoyable.
With that thought in mind (no blame on game or database) what things should I be looking for. It seems like the season loads (all players on the teams and salaries, etc) just can not get the date to be correct ie... 0/0/1901 or 0/0/1970 etc. Any other thoughts would be great and warmly received Thanks, Derek

I don't play historically myself so not quite sure, maybe check your language and date settings also if you have a spreadsheet program how it is setup.

Try the Stickware schedule generator. You can set your start date there.
