Virus????!!!!

I posted before about the error with the ootp4.exe, i think now that it may be a possible virus in my computer, i tried to download the game again and got the same "incorrect parameter" message...so then i tried to download the download manager and when i tried to install that it said it was unable to install it that it was corrupted! does this mean i have a virus, and if so what should i do? i hated waiting the hour and a half again just to find out this, but hopefully i can fix the problem, thanks for any help guys i appreciate it

if anybody has any ideas as to what we can do about our respective problems that would be great...im sure this has happened before to someone so if anybody knows what steps to take that would be helpful. thanks in advance

Try downloading to a diffrent drive. Check the memory and space you have on your drives..
try that then post the info u got

Just a note - this is actually a common error especially for dial-up users and has nothing to do with a virus. Let's nip the virus talk in the bud, it is not helpful and can panic people that are not very familiar with computer software .

AlomarJr.15 - I think I may have answered this same question from you in your other related thread, maybe that did not fix it though. Before a virus check I would check for disk and registry problems 1st. I suggest you run MS Scan Disk on both drives and tell us what happened.

killebrew, yeah you did give me some info from my last thread but when the same results occurred and then the error message with the download manager i got paranoid you could say, sorry about that...anyway my computer is a little old but i had ootp3 installed so i figured this would work also, i have 850 mb free and im assuming thats enough, i have 32 mb of RAM and a 32-bit virtual memory whatever that means to you guys...running windows 98...um i ran scan disk and it came up with no errors or viruses, im hoping your right about it just being a dial-up connection that is causing the incomplete downloads and im sure you are but the error with the download manager is what got me, um i guess thats about all you guys needed if you could give me any tips on what i could do to get going that would be great thanks a lot for all your help i appreciate it...also im assuming that the system requirments for ootp4 are similar to those of ootp3 which i had mentioned that i had on this computer so if im completely out of my league with the system i am running then i apologize...anyway enough rambling, ill be waiting for a reply thanks for getting back to me so quickly on the last couple

32 MB of RAM is a very small amount, the very least you should have is 64, and even that pushes the limit. I use 128 with no real problems although the game does crawl on occasion.

Also, 850 MB free isn't a lot either, generally you want to keep at least a gig free, (right now I have almost 10 gb) but I would imagine more problems are being caused by the small amount of RAM you have.
