Post 4.0b Patch Problem?

First off, I'm a BIG fan of the game and have been playing for many hours since the initial release of OOTP4. Thumbs up!

I just downloaded the new patch and went in to continue a previously-saved game in which I was controlling the Yankees and simulating all games. I played another two full months before an injury notification e-mail popped up. Here's what I found out happened:

New York was playing at Boston. After four full innings, the score was 12-0, NY (4 in the 2nd and 8 in the 4th). The Yankees then scored TWENTY-FIVE RUNS in the top of the fifth! Andy Pettitte, the starter, marched out to pitch the fifth and allowed a run to make it 37-1. At this point, no substitutions had been made for New York. The Yankees scored two more in the top of the sixth before Pettitte came out again for the bottom of the frame and blew his arm out (lost for the season!) against the first batter.....this was the first substitute of the game! The final score ended up 47-1 with no other substitutions made until the eighth inning! Weather: 69 degrees with wind blowing out to center at 14 mph.

Posada ends up going 8-for-9, by the way....

Note that I'm using Rolen's most recent roster set; however, I've played quite a few seasons with them and never seen anything even close to this.

Is this just a fluke or rather a potential flaw in the game code? I ask for your input....

Thanks!

I had a similar problem in OOTP3 where the scores were crazy, like 30-2 or 45-3, with most of the runs coming from pitched balls.

I had to uninstall then re-install the game. I kept a copy of my league file and loaded that in after the re-installation but, unfortunately, the league file must have been corrupted as well.

All worked smoothly after that.

I know that in "literally" all of the 1,000's of OOTP games I have played I haven't seen anything even close to this. I've had some scores in the 20's but not that often, but never anything more.

I might be inclined to try and uninstall and reinstall, sadly could be the league file though.

Question

I continued using the file to simulate games for another three full seasons and still have yet to see anything else out of the ordinary.....just that one crazy game. Has anyone else seen anything like what I described in my original post?

I've had a couple of 30-1, 25-2 type games...but that was it. Saw it happen more in OOTP3.

I haven't, hopefully it's just a fluke.
