i'm trying to run the game on a 800 x 600 resolution, which is the highest my computer allows, but when i switch to full screen mode, the game opens for a second then crashes. is there anything i can do?
(it runs fine in normal mode, but i can't really see it, of course)

Just make sure the PC has the latest video card and monitor drivers, and I guess whatever OS you use has it's required critical updates as well. If that does nothing then it just may not work below the 1024 x 768 minimum resolution, hence why that was part of the minimum system requirement
. Hopefully those that have had success running the game in a 800 x 600 resolution can add further info in this thread. Beyond that I'd suggest upgrading your monitor or using the eLicense return policy. Good luck. |

I've run into the same problems (as explained in an earlier post). I run my desktop in 800 x 600, and if I run the game in full-screen mode (with D3D), and either try to print from within the game or Alt/Tab out of it, I'll wind up crashing when I try to Alt/Tab back into the game.
The only way I can print from within the game is by running in windowed mode. The catch here is that I'm forced to change my desktop to 1024 x 768 before I run the game. Otherwise, the in-game text will be garbled. Either way, it's frustrating that I'm forced to take extra steps in order to enjoy the game. Granted, they're simple steps, but they shouldn't be necessary. I'm running: Pentium II-350 320 RAM Voodoo 3 PCI Windows 98 If anyone has a solution to the full-screen mode crashes, I'd sure appreciate hearing it.
