I used to play ootp4 on my laptop with XP, no problems. Well, I decided to transfer everything to my desktop pc at home - so I could use the direct 3d setting.
I have a PII 400 256mb ram 13gig HD GeForce 2 MX 32meg video card The game plays fine until I actually manage a game, then sometimes after the pbp gets done and it says, 'click to proceed' or something like that, the game just locks up. I can go back in sim that game, play a few games just fine, then boom! it does it again. I have to cntl-alt-del and end the program. I've defragmented and even re-installed Win 98se on a clean formatted HD. I'm at a loss here. This is a solo league, I'm controlling the Expos, lineups and pitching staff set up just fine. It does this every few games or so... Todd |

My friend just called me saying he has a similar problem. His game locks up when he tries to simulate 1 week, 1 month or the whole season. He can simulate the games one by one though.
He didn't have any problems till the middle of the 3rd season (using Rolen's rosters). He also has Win98 SE but has a faster PC. Athlon 900 192mb RAM I wonder if this section of the forum is being read. Might be better if this is posted on the main board. |

Just wanted to point out that OOTP3 used to freeze on me all the time when I had a 375mhz Celeron with 128mb ram. But, I've never had OOTP4 freeze on me with on my system:

Well, when I arrived home I updated my BIOS and video card drivers. I also ran msconfig and took out alot of nonsense start ups.
I'll post back and post the results. Todd |

Same thing happened!
I decided to try out full-screen mode with 3d still enabled. Played two games so far with no freezes (crossing my fingers). I thought it froze once, but then it resumed. Todd |

Still working.
Seems as if I use 3d mode, I need to use full-screen mode. Don't see the difference but if it keeps me from crashing, I'm all for it! I'm up to 5 games, will post back again after 20+ Todd |
