I have a few careers running simultaneously but I am running a bit short on memory so I need to delete one or two of them. Maybe I'm just blind or stupid, but I can't seem to work out how to delete a saved game.

You want to delete the entire league right? If that's what you want to do, go to the folder where OOTP is installed.
Default is "C:\Program Files\OOTP4" Then, delete the folder that has the name of the league you want to delete. For instance if the name of the league you want to delete is "Cubs 2002", delete the folder named "Cubs 2002". This will delete the entire league. But when you delete, make sure you go to a different league before you exit the game. This will prevent the OOTP3 problem where it would still try to open the deleted the league. The problem may be fixed, bu hey it's easier just to switch leagues so that there's no chance for a problem.
